- Surrounding Elements: Both outdoor and indoor units need to be installed away from direct sunlight and water so that they can provide optimal cooling to the property.
- Outdoor Unit Location: Any heat dissipated from the condenser must also be released freely, which is why the outdoor unit must be installed in an open space. Additionally, the outdoor unit must be installed on a flat and rigid surface so that its components will not vibrate excessively.
- Distance of Units: The distance between the outdoor and indoor units must be kept as minimum as possible so that the heat loss will be reduced significantly. The maximum distance between these units that will not compromise heat loss would be around 15 meters.

Air conditioner (AC) brackets are important since they can effectively hold units that weigh more than 45 kg. They can also ensure that the indoor unit can work steadily without the risk of suddenly falling. AC brackets tend to differ when it comes to their configuration, but they can guarantee to support the indoor unit of a split air conditioning unit easily. Most brackets come in a small shelf of a pair of legs that may extend slightly outside the window. Some AC brackets may not even require screws for installations.
